Professional Photography that makes Your Business Stand Out
Professional photography for businesses, artists, galleries, manufacturers, designers and organisations throughout Cumbria, Lancashire, Yorkshire and across the UK.
Experience Behind Every Image
I'm Geoff Harris, a professional photographer with more than 30 years' commercial experience. Based close to the Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire borders, I work with businesses, manufacturers, designers, artists, galleries, hotels and organisations throughout the UK. From carefully controlled studio photography to challenging industrial environments and specialist artwork reproduction, I combine creative thinking with technical expertise to produce photographs that have a purpose.
The aim isn't simply to create a good photograph. It's to create the right photograph for what you need it to achieve.

4. SPECIALIST ARTWORK FEATURE
H2 — Specialist Artwork Photography
H3 — Accurate Photography of 2D and 3D Artwork
Paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics and other artwork require careful control of lighting, reflections, colour and detail.
I provide high-resolution artwork photography for artists, galleries, museums, collectors, institutions and fine-art printers.
Using controlled lighting and cross-polarised techniques where appropriate, I can minimise unwanted reflections while retaining the colour, tonal variation, texture and fine detail of the original artwork.
Photography is available in the studio or on location for individual works, large pieces and collections.

IMAGE AREA — Make this a visually distinctive full-width section. Use one large artwork image, or two/three carefully selected artwork images. If available, include a detail image alongside the complete artwork to demonstrate resolution and surface detail.
Important wording point: use 'minimise unwanted reflections' rather than 'zero reflections', because results depend on the artwork and surface

When the Photograph isn't Obvious
CREATIVE PROBLEM-SOLVING:
Some assignments are straightforward. Others require considerably more thought. An uninspiring industrial building. A huge piece of machinery. A reflective surface. An awkward location. A large piece of artwork. A busy factory floor. A product that simply doesn't photograph well.
These are the assignments where experience matters.
I enjoy finding the photograph that isn't immediately obvious—using lighting, perspective, composition and creative problem-solving to turn difficult subjects into strong images.
IMAGE AREA — Use one photograph that demonstrates this idea: something ordinary or difficult transformed into a striking image.

People Who Represent Your Business
Corporate portraits, headshots and environmental photography for businesses and organisations.
Whether you're photographing a CEO, an entire workforce or people working within their environment, putting people at ease is an important part of producing natural, confident photographs. Studio-style lighting can be brought to your workplace, or portraits can be created within the working environment.

IMAGE AREA — Use one strong environmental portrait or a small, consistent pair of portraits. Avoid filling this section with headshots unless people photography is a major commercial target.

"Their creativity exceeded our expectations and we were extremely happy with the results. Particularly pleasing was their ability to make a thirty odd year old industrial unit and a few vans look interesting! We will certainly use them for any future promotional photography."

Commercial and Industrial Photography has long been an enjoyable aspect of my work. Quick thinking and an aptitude for ‘seeing’ the right shot in areas which can appear not possible are skills that make such challenges welcome. These skills are further supported by a knowledge of lighting, great composition and total awareness of safety in potentially dangerous environments.
Are you looking for a skilled Professional Studio Photographer? From thimbles to room sets I’ve done it all, with more than my fair share of clothing, sports goods and footwear for some of the giants in the manufacturing industry. Do you require Location Product Photography at your premises or your clients? No problem, I can do that, UK wide.
