Vibrant Colours with Zero Relections
My clients are often amazed with the reproduction of their artwork. The reason is that I use 100% totally Linear Polarized light (Cross Polarization). This is not just a case of a filter over the lens! All stray unpolarized light is eliminated, which prevents reflections from oils and impasto, rendering excellent saturation to any medium. With older paintings, this technique also has the ability of 'pulling' detail from shadow areas, hidden beneath the varnish, sometimes to a surprising amount.
To photograph your canvas, evenness of illumination is crucial to the final reproduction and I create this with neutral balanced lighting heads. The lighting is consistent to an exposure of one tenth of an f-stop across the surface of the canvas, which eliminates any 'hot spots'.
